Usai China, Indonesia Tuan Rumah Miss World 2013
Masyarakat Indonesia pantas bahagia dua kali lipat saat penyelenggaraan final Miss World 2012. Bukan saja prestasi Ines Putri yang masuk dalam jajaran 15 besar, tetapi Indonesia juga diumumkan menjadi lokasi penyelenggaraan Miss World 2013.
Ajang Miss World 2012 di Ordos, Mongolia, China, berlangsung sukses. Diikuti 116 finalis dari seantero dunia, Miss World yang diselenggarakan ke-62 tahun ini akhirnya mendaulat Wenxia Yu sebagai Miss World 2012.
Selama setahun, wakil dari Republik Rakyat China ini akan berkeliling dunia dan menjalankan misi sosial dalam program yang dikemas secara baik bernama Beauty with a Purpose.
Adapun masa tugas terakhir dari pemilik tinggi badan 177 sentimeter ini akan dilakukan saat penyelenggaraan Miss World 2013 di Indonesia. Dan, kepastian soal lokasi penyelenggaraan Miss World dilakukan secara simbolis saat malam final Miss World 2012. Saat itu, Nana Putra, Managing Director MNC Group menerima bendera Miss World.
Rencananya, Miss World 2013 diselenggarakan September dengan mengambil lokasi karantina di Bali. Sementara itu, Jakarta sebagai Ibu Kota Indonesia dipilih menjadi lokasi malam final Miss World 2013.
“Jakarta akan menjadi tuan rumah malam final Miss World 2013. Namun tepatnya di mana lokasi tersebut, kami belum bisa memastikan,” tutur Kanti Mirdiati kepada Okezone di Blacksteer Lounge, Belleza Shopping Arcades, Permata Hijau, Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Project Director Miss Indonesia & Managing Director RCTI ini pun menjelaskan alasan Jakarta dipilih sebagai lokasi malam final Miss World 2013.
“Ini merupakan bagian dari upaya memperkenalkan Jakarta dan Indonesia sendiri ke mata dunia. Kebanyakan orang luar negeri tahu Bali, tapi tidak tahu kalau Bali ada di Indonesia. Mereka mengira bahwa Bali itu sebuah negara,” ucap wanita ramah ini.
