Teheran - Israel adalah "tumor kanker" yang akan segera dihancurkan, kata Presiden Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Jumat (17/8/2012), kepada para demonstran yang melakukan protes tahunan terhadap eksistensi negara Yahudi itu.

"Rezim Zionis dan warga Zionis adalah satu tumor kanker. Kendatipun satu sel dari mereka dikeluarkan dalam satu inci tanah (Palestina), pada masa depan sejarah ini (bagi eksistensi Israel) akan terulang kembali," katanya dalam satu pidato di Teheran untuk memperingati Hari Quds Iran yang disiarkan langsung televisi negara itu.

"Negara-negara dari kawasan ini akan segera mengusir kaum Zionis perampas tanah Palestina.... Sebuah Timur Tengah baru pasti dibentuk. Dengan bantuan Allah dan negara-negara kawasan ini, Timur Tengah baru tidak akan ditemukan lagi orang-orang Amerika dan Zionis," katanya.

Peringatan itu dilakukan pada saat ketegangan meningkat antara Israel dan Iran menyangkut program nuklir Iran yang disengketakan itu.

Israel pekan-pekan belakangan ini meningkatkan ancaman-ancamannya untuk menghancurkan fasilitas-fasilitas nuklir Iran guna mencegah Teheran mampu memproduksi senjata-senjata atom. Iran yang terkena sanksi-sanksi Barat membantah tuduhan itu dan menegaskan bahwa program nuklirnya hanya untuk tujuan damai. Militernya memperingatkan akan menghancurkan Israel jika diserang.

Televisi Pemerintah Iran menunjukkan, massa berpawai di bawah sinar matahari yang menyengat di Teheran dan kota-kota lain negara itu untuk memperingati Hari Quds (Jerusalem) yang bertujuan membebaskan kota Jerusalem, yanga akan dijadikan ibu kota negara Palestina masa depan (Israel juga bersikeras untuk menjadikan Jerusalem sebagai ibu kotanya).

Para pengunjuk rasa membawa bendera-bendera Palestina dan foro-foto pemimpin tertinggi Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, dan spanduk bertuliskan "Ganyang Israel" dan "Ganyang Amerika". Satu kelompok orang di Teheran terlihat membakar satu bendera Israel.

Unjuk rasa itu telah menjadi kegiatan tahunan selama Ramadhan di Iran sejak Revolusi Islam tahun 1979. Para pengunjuk rasa menegaskan antipati Iran terhadap Israel dan sekutunya Amerika Serikat serta mendukung perjuangan rakyat Palestina, yang Khamenei sebut "satu tugas agama."

Pemimpin tertinggi itu, Rabu, menyebut Israel sebagai "hasil pertumbuhan Zionis gadungan dan palsu" di Timur Tengah yang "akan dilenyapkan".

Pemimpin Pengawal Revolusi yang berpengaruh, Jenderal Mohammed Ali Jafari, mengemukakan kepada kantor berita Fars, ketika menghadiri unjuk rasa di Teheran itu, bahwa "negara Iran sekarang berada di garis depan perlawanan regional anti-Israel dalam menunjukkan kebenciannya pada Israel." Ia menambahkan, Iran tetap mempertahankan sikap tegas itu.

Ahmadinejad dalam pidatonya menyatakan, Zionis menimbulkan perang dunia pertama dan kedua, dan "menguasai masalah-masalah dunia, sejak saat itu mereka menguasai Pemerintah AS."
